Which routers does NetPortal work with?
NetPortal works with MikroTik routers running RouterOS. We recommend RouterOS v7 — it is required for the automatic VPN tunnel used when a router has no public IP address.
My router is on a 4G connection or has no public IP. Will it work?
Yes. When NetPortal detects that a router is behind CGNAT, it connects it through a secure VPN tunnel automatically. You don't need a static IP or port forwarding.
Do I need to know RouterOS or Winbox?
No. To add a router you paste two commands we give you into the MikroTik terminal, once. After that, hotspot setup, plans, vouchers and the login page are all managed from the NetPortal dashboard.
How do my customers pay for WiFi?
Two ways. You can print voucher codes and sell them in person. On the Pro plan, customers can also buy access themselves on your login page with MTN Mobile Money or Orange Money (via Fapshi) and receive their code instantly. Payments go to your own Fapshi account.
What happens if a customer loses their code?
They can look it up on your login page by entering the mobile money number they paid with.
Can I set time limits, data limits and speeds?
Yes. Each plan sets a duration or data quota, upload and download speed, and how many devices can use one voucher.
Can I brand the login page?
Yes. Upload your logo, choose your colours, add a WhatsApp contact button, and publish the page to your router in one click.
Can I manage several locations?
Yes. Add each router — hotel lobby, café, campus library — and see all of them, their sessions and their revenue in one dashboard.
How much does NetPortal cost?
NetPortal is a monthly subscription with two plans, Basic and Pro, paid with mobile money. Message us on WhatsApp for current pricing.
